Making the Desert Safe for Dessert

According to the latest issue of TIME, The War Tapes is a film that bills itself as "the first documentary about the war filmed by those fighting it." In one of the film’s homemade video clips, a soldier in the field complains about the risks he and his fellow GIs face almost daily guarding the property of the Halliburton subsidiary (owned by Dick Cheney’s rich pals) that has been subcontracted to provide meals for the troops. This soldier/filmmaker asks his camera: "Why the f--- am I sitting out here guarding a truck full of cheesecake?"
