Literary Travel
Hemingway slept here...

...or did he?
Almost every state in the West claims Ernest Hemingway as one of its own. He fished -- and wrote about -- the Gallatin in Montana, the Clark's Fork in Wyoming, and just about every stretch of fly-fishing water between the Dakota Black Hills and Lake Tahoe.
While Papa is part of the West's literary heritage, so is Nebraska's Mari Sandoz, Utah's David Lee, Montana's Tom McGuane, Wyoming's Tim Sandlin, Colorado's Mary Crow, and a host of other writers, living and dead, who have put the "Deep West" on the world's literary map.
Stay tuned to this page for features on the West's writers. And those places, such as libraries, literary centers, and historic sites, that celebrate their impact on the culture.
