Cost / Maximum Attendance

If registration and money is received prior to March 31 - $95 per participant

If registration and money is received after March 31 - $125 per participant

We are limiting the academy to 35 participants (24 divers and 11 shore support) on a first come-first served basis.

Lodging, Food and Entertainment

Participants should plan on staying in Reno for a minimum of two nights. Because the academy is scheduled before the major tourist season, you should be able to find rooms at a reasonable rate. Here are a few ideas:

Seasons Inn (Reno) – Owned by one of our members family.

http://www.seasonsinn.com

John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel Casino

http://www.janugget.com/

Silver Legacy Resort Casino

http://www.silverlegacy.com

Lunch will be provided on Saturday. All other meals will be the participant’s responsibility. Sunday, we will all go out for pizza after the last dive, so please plan your budget accordingly.

The weekend of the Academy is also the weekend for University Nevada Reno’s Jazz Festival. Check out more about this at http://www.unr.edu/rjf/

Travel

If you plan on flying or driving over a pass, please be aware our last dive will be completed on Sunday by 12:00 noon. We will be at 4500 ft elevation and that day your max depth will be 60’ (equivalent of 70 ft sea level for no more than 20 minutes). Plan for the appropriate waiting period prior to departure.

Ground Transportation

You need to have ground transportation as we will be moving from location to location each day. If you are renting a vehicle, we would recommend a 4X4 as we still get snow up at Tahoe sometimes in April.
