Hunter's Aid Station

Every weekend of deer hunting season, the members of Washoe County Search and Rescue man a Hunter's Aid station in the remote but popular hunting area north of Gerlach. As you can see from the map, Washoe County spans a large area, north all the way to the Oregon border.  It takes about 3 hours to reach this area from Reno, and experience has taught us that, in the event of a medical or lost person emergency, we can be far more effective with a rapid response than if we had to drive from Reno. At the Hunter's Aid station, people are welcome to stop by for supplies, directions, or even just a cup of coffee.

Latitude/Longitude coordinates for our Hunter's Aid Station are:

41 degrees, 7.65 minutes North
119 degrees, 22.8 minutes West
