 Every member, after having been on the team for more than six months, may volunteer the use of his or her four-wheel drive vehicle to be used on search and rescue missions. These members receive no compensation, not even for mileage. Occasionally, on a long-distance search, the Sheriff's Office will refill the gas tanks of the marked unit vehicles. Damage inflicted on these privately owned vehicles during a search and rescue mission is the responsibility of the vehicle's owner.   |
