STEP ONE: Write a brief note, letter or postcard which will be included in our care packages to the troops. The message can be as long or as short as you would like. It can be on an index card, post card, personal note card or your fancy stationary. It doesn't matter to the troops, they're just happy to hear from home (home being the United States).
Important: No last name, street address, city, email or other personal information may be included if under the age of 18.
Once your written correspondence is completed, mail them to Their Angels, 2934 Hilltop Mall Road, Suite 118, Richmond, CA 94806. All written correspondence will be censored for inappropriateness. Remember: We want to encourage, uplift and thank our troops while keeping our personal and political views out of this forum.
Operation Interdependence (OI) is the organization responsible for mailing our care packages to the deployed troops.
STEP TWO: The area managers for Their Angels is located in Gilroy, California, which is where our care packages and any extra notes are delivered. Each box shipped to our troops contain 50 c-rats (care package) . Each c-rat is made from a quart size baggie with four-five items plus a personal note. The items vary each month based on the supplies on hand (ie. gum, candy, instant coffee, tooth paste, shampoo, a razor or a deck of cards), however, the most important item is your note! OI has come to realize that while the troops enjoy the goodies from home, it's the personal note that touch their hearts.
In the letters and emails I've recieved from the troops, they often express how grateful they are that someone would take the time to write to them. OI is commited to increasing their numbers of c-rats without impacting military resources. Their goal for this year is to reach 50,000 troops every month just like clock work until there is no longer a need!
STEP THREE (OPTIONAL): Involve others to help you get as many written notes as possible! Your family, friends, students, your children's classmates, your email distribution, coworkers, neighbors, church family or your PTA. Whoever you involve should be people you know and trust to support our mission.............To Encourage and Support Our Troops!
