The Universal Acceptance of the “Golden Rule”

-“Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself.” Leviticus 19.18

-“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you….” Matthew 7:12

-“Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself.” Confucius, The Analects

-Confucius also said; "There is just one thread that runs through my teachings: Zhoung Shu." In Chinese ideographs, "Zhoung" is composed of the symbols for "heart" and "middle" and is taken to mean "Maintain fidelity to oneself and to the humanity within oneself." "Shu" is almost identical in symbols and is read to mean "Cherish the heart of others as if it were one's own."

-“Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.” The last sermon of the Prophet Muhammad from the Qur'an

-There is an Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad which says "None of you will have faith until he wants for his brother what he wishes for himself."

-“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” Dalai Lama

-“If we do to others what is agreeable to us, others also in the same manner will honor us with a pleasing return.” Tibetan Buddist Aphorism from Amanda Russell, Cultural Anthropoligist.

-“Love thy neighbor as yourself because you are your  neighbor.” Hindu Aphorism from the President of India, quoted in Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaader
