Questions Following the Readings
Types of Leaders and Styles of Leadership

1.  Think about your boss or some other Leader you have known and state what "type" of Leader that person is and why you think so.  Has he/she been successful at Leading the organization?  Why or why not? Or, What "type" of Leader have you been in one of your past positions?  Describe why and how.

2.  Why are there different types of real-world Leaders? Is it solely because of personality? Or is there some other factor that causes a successful real-world Leader to resemble or act like one of these academically defined types? 

3. Tritten and Keithly highlight a major weakness of a Charismatic Leader.  What is it? Do other types of Leaders have a major weakness?

4. What is the difference between a Charismatic and Transformational Leader?

5.  Can you articlulate the difference between a "type" of Leader and a "style" of Leadership?  Try.

6. What "style" of Leadership do you prefer to use.  Does it always work? Why/why not?
