This site has been developed and is maintained by William H. J. Manthorpe, Jr. Mr Manthorpe is a retired intelligence professional with 40 years of active intelligence and leadership experience both as a naval intelligence officer and senior civilian executive, retiring as the Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence. During that career he lectured on both intelligence and leadership topics at most U.S. military colleges and at a number of major U.S. universities. After retiring from the government, he served at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a consultant on intelligence and strategic planning as well as lecturing on Leadership in the Masters of Engreering Management and Reserve Officers Training curricula. From 1995 to 2008 he was also an Adjunct Professor at Joint Military Intelligence College (now the National Defense Intelligence College) presenting a 30 semester hour elective course on Leadership to intelligence professionals from all Services and Agencies of the Intelligence Community. It is from that course that these course materials are drawn.
