A native of Tacoma, Washington, Dr. Larson earned his dental degree from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois in 1983.  He continued his studies in the specialty of Prosthodontics at the same school, graduating in 1986.  (A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed two additional years of training after dental school to become a specialist in replacing missing teeth and restoring broken down teeth.)

Dr. Larson’s career has been distinguished by his dedication to continuing education, both as a student and a speaker.  He has lectured on various topics ranging from articulators to case presentation.  He has addressed The Pierce County Dental Society, Young Dentists of Pierce County, The Chicago Dental Society and the Kois Symposium.  Some of the continuing education courses Dr. Larson has attended include:  “Denture Diagnosis and Construction”, “Implant Dentistry, A Comprehensive Review of the Past Ten Years”, “Current Advances in Fixed Prosthodontics” and  Jack Turbyfills “Regaining Pleasure and Success with Complete Denture Services”.   Recently, he completed The Kois Center Curriculum along with three Kois Symposiums. 

Keeping up with the latest advances in dentistry is important to Dr. Larson.  He does this by maintaining memberships in professional groups such as the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, and the Washington State Society of Prosthodontists.  Locally he is a Kois Center Mentor, an active member of several study clubs and a member of Dental Organization for Conscious sedation.  Dr Larson has applied his knowledge by using medical models for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, in addition Dr. Larson utilizes lasers to manage patient tissue conditions as well as CAT scans and computers to help guide implant placement.

Dr. Larson lives in Puyallup, Washington with his wife Cindy, and their two sons, Scott and Brett.  He enjoys tennis, water skiing, snow skiing and boating.
