- And to help them value their Judaism (as opposed to devaluing it, as happens widely today) - and to deepen their practice of it, step by step, in a comfortable way - learning about and embracing the lovely traditions of their enduring religion.
We are not associated with any one
branch of Judaism. Our program is designed to be in line with all the branches - to be good for all the branches - for all Jews.
(We try to stay away from issues that are controversial or divisive.)
Our goals are basic and simple:
To promote a positive view of Judaism, to counter the indifferent or even negative attitude toward Judaism (primarily the religion
) that many Jews have (see Devaluaton
To educate Jews about basic, non-controversial Jewish concepts, about which many of the most educated Jews are totally ignorant - and
To encourage Jews to learn about and incorporate simple, classic, traditional practices into their lives - practices that fit with all the branches of Judaism.
We're not aiming to send Jews to KEHILLAH so much as we're aiming to send Jews to all the other Jewish organizations and institutions already set up to educate and inform them about Judaism and help them practice it, including their local synagogues. There are so many Jewish institutions willing, able and eager to do this. It's not necessary for KEHILLAH to form yet one more duplicate organization.
You might say that we at KEHILLAH
see ourselves as a Tiny Little Ad Agency
with One Great Big Client: Judaism.
HOW TO ACCOMPLISH OUR GOALS?
Our plan involves four steps:
Step One. OUR PRO-JUDAISM PR & AD CAMPAIGN designed to appeal to Jews of all types - to intrigue them, to get them curious to explore their Judaism, to learn more, to experience more, to appreciate more about Judaism, to take courses, read books, go to Synagogue, ask questions, get involved - even if they never go to our website or hear our lectures.
Many, many more Jews will learn about Judaism and hear more positive things about Judaism through these Pro-Judaism ads than through our website or any other medium that we can think of. That's why the ad campaign is our main project.
Our plan is to:
ADVERTISE TO EDUCATE JEWS!!
We're "going after them" where they live! -
in the pages of the journals they read on a regular basis - and, when we can, through radio and tv.

Step 2. OUR WEBSITE that is loaded with information about What's So Great About Being Jewish and How to Deepen the Practice of Judaism - simple step by simple step - so that Judaism becomes more meaningful. The website will be promoted in our ads.
Step 3. JEWISH MEDIA CAMPAIGN - We plan to produce radio and tv commercials that promote a positive view of Judaism and Jewish practices. To see sample scripts of our planned productions, CLICK HERE...
Step 4. NATIONAL SPEAKER PROGRAM - We will train speakers (culled from teachers and rabbincal students, etc.) to visit College Campuses, Synagogues and Community Centers all over the Country - wherever there are Jews interested in hearing What's So Great About Being Jewish - especially young Jews. We will offer information to help them deepen their practice of Judaism - step by step.
