It so happens our background is in tv/radio commercial production. So it's only natural that we would produce radio and tv spots (commercials) for KEHILLAH - like this one, that's already been recorded and ready to air - we just need the funding to run it. SHAVUOUS RADIO COMMERCIAL - :60 Arnie: Judy, do you like blintzes? Judy: I love blintzes! Arnie: Do you like cheesecake? Judy: I love cheesecake!Arnie: How about ice cream? Judy: Arnie, are you treating me to dessert? Arnie: I'm treating you to Shavuous! Judy: Shavuous? Isn't that one of those minor holidays? Arnie: Minor?! - It's major! - the culmination of Passover! Judy: I love Passover - matzoh balls, chocolate macaroons... Arnie: On Passover, God took the Jews out of slavery, right? Judy: Right. Arnie: Why? Judy: Why? Arnie: So God could give us the Torah - the ten commandments! Judy: And that's Shavuous? Arnie: Exactly - So on Shavuous we go to synagogue - Judy: Sure - Arnie: We listen to the Ten Commandments - Judy: Absolutely - Arnie: We study into the night and... Judy: Eat blintzes! Arnie: Connect with something deep and rich and eternal - Judy: Ohhhhh - That's so beautiful! Arnie: Afterwards, we celebrate with blintzes, cheesecake, kugel... Judy: And after that I start my diet, for sure - (start fade...) I'm not kidding this time - I mean it... (Music up....) Announcer: Celebrate Shavuous - June 6th & 7th. We see an assortment of people say the prayer over candle-lighting for Shabbat, one scene dissolving into the next - in a seamless recitation of the prayer. Some are older women, some are younger, some are children, one is a young man. Fade up with beautiful, haunting klezmerish music... Young woman in modern kitchen: Baruch Atah Adonai... Older woman in antique-filled room: Eloheinu Melech HaOlam... Two young girls together: Asher Kid'shanu B'mitzvotov.... Young man in young professional's apartment: Vitzivanu Lechadlich ner shel Shabbat.... Music up as we see each of these people and the beautiful aura created in each setting by the candles... Announcer VO: Your Grandmother lit them - and your Great Grandmother... Why not join the chain of Jewish people who have lit Shabbat candles on Friday evenings at sundown, for over three thousand years? Super titles and announcer voice over: Connect with something deep and rich and meaningful - Judaism - the more you do it, the more you get it. Sponsored by KEHILLAH, Jewish Outreach Media Campaign.
