Visions of the Headmaster and current needs of the school:

My vision is to carry out the mission of still continuing to turn out students of high academic,
technical and vocational excellence; students who are morally strong, highly disciplined and are
capable of facing the challenges of the competitive world or this millennium. It is also to carry
out the infrastructural development of the school.
To achieve this there is the need to improve the teaching and learning situation on campus. The
Government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of improving the infrastructure and providing
the numerous needs of the school. This is the time for various stakeholders of the school, especially
the Old students, to make an impact on their Alma Matter.
I have a vision of carrying out these projects in phases. Indeed some of the buildings have not
been painted since 1967. The Dinning Hall, which doubles as an Assembly Hall, which was also the
pride of the past, is leaking badly and the shiny PVC floor tiles are now a thing of the past. In
fact, the school needs a new assembly Hall separate from the Dining Hall. Plans for the proposed
new Assembly Hall have been drawn. The dormitories are no exception to the deterioration.
The school now has a teaching staff of sixty-seven (67) with accommodation for only twenty (20)
and this has to be improved to attract the best teachers in the field.
Enrollment in the school is double what it used to be due to the increasing demand for technical
education. However, laboratory, classroom and workshop facilities remain the same. Additional Classrooms
and Workshops are needed.
PROJECTS
Computer Programme
The world being a global village necessitates our bringing out students highly literate in the
knowledge of computers. We, therefore, need a well-equipped computer laboratory with at least Two
Hundred (200) computers for our 1,385 students population. At the moment, we have only Twenty-Five
(25) computers.
Library Books
Various Library books in Technical, Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and Science are needed.
Tractors
Koforidua Secondary Technical School has a large compound and weeding has to be done constantly. The
school has only six laborers and this makes the need for a tractor very necessary. Weeding by students
could be reduced to a minimum.
Fence Wall
The perimeter of about 2.5km now needs a fortified demarcation to prevent encroachment by private
developers. This has to be done no matter the cost. The construction will be done in phases.
Production Units
I am looking at the possibility of generating some income for the school. In pursuance of this,
Production Units would be set up in the technical department for their products to be sold to the
general public, for example:
i. Simple agricultural implements like hoes and rakes. - (Metalwork).
ii. Garden Chairs, Student Beds - (Woodwork).
iii. Washing and Lubricating Vehicles - (Auto Mechanics)
