THE Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Koforidua Secondary-Technical School at the weekend donated items worth ¢787 million to the school. They comprised a bus, tractor and a six-bedroom transit quarters for national service personnel. The PTA chairman, Kwaku Obeng Yeboah handed over the keys to the headmaster at a meeting of the association. He said that the donation was part of its plans to improve conditions at the school to enable the staff and students to go about their academic work in a conducive atmosphere. Mr Yeboah said that apart from the latest donation, the association had undertaken other projects, including renovation and furnishing of the junior science laboratory and provision of one 100 desks. They also contributed money towards the completion of a visitors reception hall and construction of conveniences The PTA also increased its motivation fund for teachers from ¢40,000 per student to ¢80,000 to enable them to work hard, which the chairman said, had yielded positive results as the school scored 100 per cent passes in the 2004 SSSCE. "Fellow parents, you will bear with me that all these achievements would not have been possible without your great support. Your contribution, both in cash and deliberations at meetings, contributed in no small way in helping this administration to perform," said Mr Yeboah. Mr John Kwame Bimpong, the headmaster, expressed commended to the PTA for its generosity and said that the school would continue to work hand in hand with parents to bring out the best in the students.
