Personal injury Statute of limitations Mississippi has a general limitation on the filing of actions of three years from the date the cause of action arose or accrued. There are special limitations for certain types of acions. Contact us for specific information.


Collections Who pays the cost and attorney fee? An account based upon a contract that is in writing has to be pursued in compliance with the terms of that contract. If it is silent as to fees and costs then they are borne by the party wishing to collect. An open account without any contract is governed by statute and costs and fees may be collected from the debtor, when the proceedure is followed. Advance court costs (i.e. filing fees) are rarely advanced by the attorney. Attorney's fees are ussually contingent upon collecting the account.
