With more than thirty years of entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Harris embraces his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hampden Pait Corporation. He is responsible for corporate strategy, governance, finance and organization. Mr. Harris oversees the vision and strategic direction of the corporation. He also ensures the fiscal health and continued growth of the organization, all the while providing valuable insight into the needs of an ever changing marketplace.
He leads new business development, new markets development and on-going client relations. Prior to founding Hampden, Mr. Harris worked in various industry segments including manufacturing, automotive, aviation, international trade, petrochemical, commercial and industrial real estate development.
Mr. Harris majored in engineering and business administration. He continued his acquisition of knowledge through numerous courses and seminars while bolstering his expertise in the field of business, economics, finance, various business structures and other investments.
Mr. Harris has an in-depth knowledge of the offshore and non-offshore financial sectors and has attended several industry conferences over the years. He has spent several years in the industry as an offshore business consultant. Mr. Harris has been involved in a number of other significant projects in the past several years, including the successful start-up of a private consortium group that provides turnkey facilities and economic development services to government and private sector clients.
Mr. Harris serves as the Chairman for International Trade and Industry Development Committee with the National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), a Washington, D.C. based nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to economically empower and sustain African American communities through entrepreneurship and capitalistic activities within the United States and via interaction with the Black Diaspora.
As the Committee Chairman, he is promoting policies aimed at solving complex development issues and undertaking major initiatives in support of the African private sector, poverty alleviation, environment, the role of women in development and economic integration. He was very instrumental in support of ‘The Clean Diamond Trade Act H.R 1584’… which passed the Senate and the House of Representatives by unanimous consent and was signed into law by the President of the United States of America on Friday April 25, 2003; and the rules and regulations that is in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions on trade in reference to conflict diamonds.
Mr. Harris's attributes to the HPC organization derive from his unique combination of an international network of relationships, a strategic background in closing deals, strong technical negotiating skills and experience; strong leadership and interpersonal skills; human resources, corporate and project management; financial and systems management at strategic and tactical levels, and public relations.
