2006 Petite Sirah

The last time we made a petite sirah was 2002 and we didn�t think we could get close to that huge wine. But, Gustavo has done it again. This is the first fruit off of the vines and we are overwhelmed with the intensity of such young fruit. The fruit was whole berry fermented and left on for a long maceration, extracting the dark, inky color that is so beautiful. This teems with cherries, cloves and an almost cocoa finish. This just begs for duck with a cherry sauce or slowly braised lamb shanks. 160 cases produced.
