Pat McCall is a Senior Associate of The Fusfeld Group, specializing in design and implementation of systems for R&D planning and management.
Mr. McCall graduated in 1952 as a petroleum refining engineer from the Colorado School of Mines. He was employed by Exxon and its predecessor companies from 1952-1986. He held a variety of positions in R&D and corporate planning, retiring as Manager, Strategic Planning of Corporate Research. Some of his activities included.
- Strategic Planning of Scientific Research - Designed and implemented a total planning system for Exxon's Corporate Research.
- Securing support for New Research Initiatives - Organized and led studied that gathered data, defined options, and made recommendations regarding areas new to the company.
- Appraisal of Research Output - Combined a number of approaches to develop a new system for appraisal of the output of Corporate Research. Provided top management with understandable basis for judging performance. Upgraded the project portfolio.
- Decision and Risk Analysis - Adapted decision analysis methodology to the evaluation of long range research projects.
- Long Range Energy Demand/Supply Analysis - Headed a group that analyzed worldwide energy demand and supply.
