Construction and Revisions

We'll be posting photos of Vista del Lago's upgrades, revisions and other construction operations as they occur.

More than 100 feet of chicken wire will be replaced with new Cedar balusters on the front and side decks.

Above, just a portion of the  balusters to be installed. Below, Plumber Sean Pepper installs the three-cartridge water filter. He also installed a new high-pressure water tank, outside shower, new pipes and other plumbing upgrades.

One of the advantages of the facility being boat-access-only is the lack of "just visiting; just looking" traffic. That, in turn, results in an abundance of wildlife from elk to deer to bear. Here's one of the neighbors feeding a regular visitor.

Jeff Lyon Construction finished installing an insulated boathouse roof as well as replacing the "saloon" style front and upgrading the garage-door side. Still to come: New paint, soffets and other apearance-related improvements.

Contractor Jeff Lyon has begun removing the roof from the boathouse in preparation for replacement. He also began revising the "Saloon look" front door-wall so it matches the roof pitch. That's his pile-driving barge next to the boathouse dock.

Below is the old boathouse with its ramshackle roof and saloon-style front.

Plumber Sean Pepper under The Vista jotting notes with plenty of dollar signs for upgrading the entire plumbing system.

The wood-pellet stove has been installed in the main room in front of the expansive front windows. Fire flames... lake view... lake view... fire flames.... Tough choice.

Treds on the stairway up to the center have been replaced. The mid-approach landing is next with new decking and plantings. The dark green seen at the ends of each tred will be the primary color of all railings.

The first rough design of the CNW Vista del Lago signage to be mounted on the boathouse is shown.

The hand carved sign is made of pine, cedar and walnut and measures about six-feet long. It sports the CNW Marketing Research, Inc. compass with the pointer directed to the "Coastal Northwest" from which CNW's initials are derived.

The final sign will have brass trim and highlights and be finished with more than a half dozen coats of hand-sanded varnish.
