Director of Safety: Ken Cruz joined SteelStar Corporation in June of 2006. Ken graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Organismic Biology. After graduation Ken started a small painting company which has led to his twenty nine year career in the construction business. Ken has been involved with many areas of construction from renovation of brick buildings, to one of the largest nuclear processing plant cleanup jobs in American history. While working at Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site, he obtained certification to teach OSHA General Industry and Construction, 10-hour and 30-hour courses. Ken has been actively involved in OSHA training and is also qualified as a forklift and aerial lift operator trainer. Other certifications include steel erection safety technician, rigging inspector, fall protection equipment inspector and has been training for union and non-union craft personnel since 2000.
