C&S PLATTE CANON MEMORIES & Then Some
by Tom and Denise Klinger
A hard back book with 336 pages and more than 450 black and
white photographs, the majority of which have not previously been
published. Also included are reproductions of advertising
brochures and maps. The new publication is a companion book
to C&S High Line Memories and Then Some.
Relive railroading from 1900 to 1938 on the C&S narrow gauge
along the Platte Canon District from Denver to Como and beyond
(Alma Branch and Boreas Pass to Breckenridge). A sampling
of the topics includes floods, snowsheds, wrecks, scrapping, train
operations, resort hotels, murder and romance, all gleaned from
newspapers, diaries and photographs of the day. In addition there
are interviews from those who were there and data from
A. A. Anderson's original time books which recorded daily
operations.
