Acoma Legend:
It was inhabited by ancestral Acomas. One day the people were tending their fields in the valley, when a violent rain storm broke and the rain washed away the access to the mesa, leaving a young girl and her grandmother stranded on top. Rather than perish from starvation, the two leaped from the cliff wall to their death.
