Diagnostic testing is a very valuable tool in learning the health of your pet. This form of medicine can either be used as a way to detect certain abnormalities, validate the current good health of your pet, or help to evaluate an older pet more thoroughly before problems surface. By doing this, we can often times help to eliminate a potentially serious or life threatening situation before it surfaces which at that time may be more difficult to deal with or even worse than that, may not be correctible.

Certain tests that can be used in this manner may be all or some of the following:
1. Blood Chemistry Analysis
2. EKG(cardiac function tests)
3. Radiographs
4. Urinalysis
5. Ultrasound
6. Thyroid function testing
7. CBC( red cell and white cell analysis with a differential) This helps to detect certain anemias and infections

All of the above tests can be performed at de la Houssaye Animal Hospital so as to give you immediate results.

If you have any questions about these tests, we encourage you to inquire about them at de la Houssaye Animal Hospital. The more we know about your pet, inside and out, the more we can do for your pet to help increase the longevity and quality of life for your pet.
