The allure of cosmetics called to me at an early age as it does many girls, and was cultivated by my grandmother’s ivory pressed powder and my mother’s moss colored eye shadow. Over the past twenty years I’ve taken advantage of every opportunity to research and evaluate cosmetic products from color cosmetics to cosmeceuticals from drugstores to highend counters. My first work experience was as a first grade teacher. I taught children to dream big and follow those dreams, soon I found myself needing to take my own advice. I followed my dream which I believed was made of money, until a meeting with a cosmetic chemist taught me it was made of passion (and in my case a little shimmer). This chemist became a mentor and business partner helping me formulate and manufacture my own line of cosmetics. My passion is cosmetics and has always been. My passion for this field is what inspires me to live by the motto “never never never give up” which is why I will forever be working to bring superior cosmetic products to women. For me superiority is reached when a product is formulated to be healthy, the product functions well from packaging to performance, and it offers women something unique in the world of beauty. Equally as important as the creation of superior cosmetic products is my story, which is one of passion, confidence, and perserverance and follows a beauty addict through her transformation to beauty entrepreneur. I hope my story will feed the dreams of many men and women and encourage them to believe in themselves, and never never never give up -- Amy
How the mineral lip gloss concept began
A routine cosmetic fix amongst all the newest mineral powders turned into an idea made of minerals and lip gloss. Knowing that minerals bind to skin holding in natural moisture, which makes the skin look plump was Amy’s first assurance that minerals would be the perfect ingredient for a lip gloss. The idea was simple with this gloss women could get a natural plumping of the lip with no irritating chemicals and the added benefits of minerals, which include skin smoothing, and protection from sun/environment. She would package her mineral bliss in a slanted tip, squeeze tube for no mess no mirror application, the outer packaging would be informative and alluring at the same time. This was the beginning of the transformation from beauty addict/first grade teacher to beauty addict/entrepreneur. She began networking, researching, and sampling all things cosmetic which included raw ingredients, tubes, manufacturers and successful brand pioneers. Amy’s mineral lip gloss is now sold in 30 plus retail locations in the US and Canada and TALLULAH lover’s await the launch of Lip Laundry, the next hard working beauty product by TALLULAH cosmetics.
