           Talking about wine, grapes and vineyards: When a patrol came  back in 1944 to report about the German positions to General Jean De Lattre De Tassigny, they simply reported, that the Germans were intrenched in the Vineyards outside town, but, they added, only in the inferior vineyards.

Born in 1889, Jean De Lattre De Tassigny died in Paris on January 11th, 1952.

The same year, he was elevated posthumously to Maréchal de France.
