This section highlights our current Appaloosa mares. We carefully select our mares from among the finest available Foundation-bred Appaloosas. Each mare is evaluated based on how we feel her conformation, abilities, overall quality and pedigree will contribute to the goals of our breeding program. To find out more about a specific mare, click on the name under her picture and the information will load into the bottom of this page. Navajo Coups is a 1994 mare by Ulrich Siouxchief and Ulrich Princess A. We need say no more about her outstanding foundation Appaloosa pedigree. She stands ~ 15.3 hands and is Sue's favorite trail horse.
Navajo Coups was very easy to break. Due to an accident, Coups' groundwork was delayed until she was three. Then, after working her for the first time in the round pen, Karisa saddled Coups and rode her around the place. The picture shown is during that first ride. Since then Navajo Coups has proven to be a sure-footed, dependable trail mount.
Though Coups has not had a lot of foals, they have all been outstanding representatives of the Appaloosa breed.
