Subject british versus canadian appaloosas

Hello Anne,

I tried to email you earlier but perhaps it didn't go through? Anyway, we are not too knowledgeable with dressage. But we know the foundation type Appaloosas like you describe seem to fair better than the modern crossbred types in that discipline. Regarding some of the traits you mention, we do see most (but not all) of our horses being somewhat narrow (we prefer this for trail riding) and most would be considered small by dressage standards (most 15.2 or less)- once again we like this size for trail riding and western performance events. On stride, our horses will have average, square strides or longer strides with overreach.

So I guess with what know of, the right foundation type Appaloosa should do well...

Take care,
Kyle
